Your Pooch Needs a Reservation at Salamanders
In 2020, the Province of Province’s Bill 132 stated that dogs would be allowed on outdoor patios; they are also allowed inside premises where low-risk food such as pre-packaged foods, fresh fruit and snacks are sold alongside wine, beer and spirits. It is up to restaurant owners to decide how to welcome dogs to restaurants. Salamanders policy is as follows. 1) In order to include a dog in your party on the patio, you will need to include it in your reservation. You will all be placed alongside the fence of the patio and your dog will need to be leashed and tied to the outside of the fence. Water…

What makes our guests welcome…
From time to time, some people arrive at Salamanders without any knowledge of how to behave in a restaurant. It’s quite amazing really, to have otherwise good people order servers around or actually abuse them, argue over the contents of a dish, smash dishes in a hissy fit or refuse to move from a reserved table. This only applies to a select few: the great majority of our guests are calm, courteous and a joy to serve and to be with. So, we thought it might be important to talk about what makes our guests welcome at Salamanders of Kemptville. 1. Our guests need to recognize that we are a…

Weddings, we’ve got weddings…
When the cold winds of winter and the icy rain of April finally leave our area, a young man’s – and a young woman’s – fancy turns to love. And so, they make it official and they wed… Weddings are time for a great deal of preparation, a few short days of hectic activity and celebration and a couple of weeks of a honeymoon trip, very often in some exotic place. Some weddings are more sedate and concentrate on the spiritual side of the event; others are more raucous and involve much drinking, music, dancing and laughter. One thing is certain, every wedding is a one-off day of happiness and…

We love kids…
One of the great joys of the Salamanders team is the kids…We think that it’s the quiet atmosphere of our home away from home that has kids enjoying our surroundings. We have no televisions and our music is soft, so folks are able to enjoy quiet conversation that includes the young ‘uns. Ok, so once and a while a wee one will act out but most of the time, we are blessed with children who sit and enjoy our food along with their parents and grandparents. It’s not that we believe that “well-behaved” kids should act like smaller adults: frankly, folks, we have had more adults acting out than their…

This effort is due to the hard work of our MURT, that is, our Maintenance, Upkeep and Refit Team.
