‘Tis the season to be hot…

We’ve had some pretty warm days so far this summer. For some, it was hot enough to banish all thought of sitting on the patio, despite the umbrellas. For them, it was better to sit in the air conditioned comfort inside.
That sure didn’t stop all you great Salamanders fans from coming in. If there was a breath of fresh air out there coming off the water, you were crowding the patio. Band nights were a bit of a riot and, we regret to say, we had to turn some people away, who didn’t have a table reserved. So, this is yet another plea to call ahead so we can get you in when you want to. It’s easy: you can go online to the reservation tab or you can simply call 613-258-2630 and talk to any of the servers on duty that day or evening.
Just a word about peak hours: by 11:30 am, when we open for business, people are already starting to throng. From 11:30 to 2:00 pm, we are pretty well moving flat out. This is quite pleasant, since we know a lot of folks coming in and are happy to get acquainted with those we haven’t met before. There are all kinds of great conversations going on (no TVs, full attention). We are receiving guests from far afield, particularly this summer, when Canadians are sticking closer to home and touring the area. A good time to drop by is between 2:00 and 4:30 pm when the luncheon rush is over. Things start up again shortly after that and it gets busy right to closing.
We know our helpings are generous and this may discourage your from having Liane’s award-winning desserts. Our advice to you is: don’t eat all of your entrée : leave some for a take-out container and enjoy something sinful. We have regular desserts on the menu such as the fabulous Annapolis Valley Apple Torte; we also have the dessert of the day, such as the famous Peanut Butter Pie. By the way, folks will often order Liane’s deserts for their special event.
Last year, as in every past year, some groups decided on their festive season party date too late to get accommodated at Salamanders. This is a big disappointment both for you and for us. You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that two largish groups have”T already booked in for December. That should be a message for you: get your reservation and menu meeting with Liane no later than the end of September.
This is to let you know also that Liane’s menu changes are a hit. While keeping the very popular standards like the incredible Salads, Quiche, Coconut Shrimp and Jambalaya, we are getting a huge demand for the Fish Tacos. So, come one, come all and enjoy yourself at Salamanders of Kemptville. Don’t forget to bring the kids, so they can colour our resident Salamander and win a free meal for themselves.
