Approaches to spring…
So, part of us may be pleased at the warm spring-like weather we are getting; another part of us may be anxious about what it means in terms of global warming. This week at our farm, most of the snow had disappeared as if by magic and the snow fleas were out in full force along with flights of Canada geese honking overhead. This, at the beginning of March…
We still have a bit of winter left to contend with and that means celebrating St. Patrick’s day on the 17th of March and Easter on March 31st. In between, Salamanders is providing its usual delicious fare à la Liane and her team. We have several groups coming in for various celebrations and meetings as well. Once April comes around, we at Salamanders start to get restless for opening up the patio. We already have a full slate of bands and entertainers wanting to provide a bit of hoopla as spring becomes summer and we get into full swing.
Soon, our snow birds will be flying home from all sorts of destinations: Florida, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, etc. Thanks to all of you who go to warmer climes in winter for checking in when you get back. We usually get a complete report from you on how your trip went and what were the highlights. Some of you even bring home souvenirs, such as all manner of Salamanders. You can usually see new ones appearing every spring on our walls and patio.
Best to you all as we approach the “real” spring and let’s hope Mother Nature doesn’t pull a trick on us by sending us the bad stuff as a late season offering.
See you at Salamanders!
